Festival of Sant’Efisio

Since 1657, the festival of Sant’Efisio, patron saint of Cagliari, has been held every year from 1-4 May. The festival is among the oldest and longest religious processions in Italy and is the largest of its kind in the Mediterranean.

The procession includes a display of splendid authentic Sardinian costumes enriched with ancient jewels. The parade passes through Cagliari’s most important streets and then, preceded by an ox cart carrying the statue of Sant’Efisio, it heads towards Pula, to the small 1300s church of Sant’Efisio on Nora beach.

Experience the evocative journey of the statue, the procession of the faithful, and the wonder of Ramadura, an ancient rite that involves spreading flower petals and diffusing horticultural essences. To honour tradition, the hotel garden donates its floral riches for the occasion.
